Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
